In the beginning of August the website www.vitaferdir.is was launched by the new Icelandic travel agency VITA the same day as the agency started its operation. The website was set up in the content management system VYRE by TM Software’s employees.
The major goal of VITA is to offer various amusement travel packages from Iceland in charter flights and ensuring schedules flights at competitive prices with quality service. VITA’s website www.vitaferdir.is was set up in the content management system VYRE. On the website visitors can view general services, search and book trips, gain information on travelling as well as on the Icelandair Saga Club. VITA is the first travel agency in Iceland to setup a partnership with the Club allowing Club members to use Award Points to buy flights.
Connection to Google maps
The site was implemented on VYRE, which has provided a flexible framework for the management of a wide variety of both structured and unstructured information. At www.vitaferdir.is visitors can use Google maps (http://maps.google.com/) to view their destination and location of hotels on a map. “Working with TM Software‘s specialists was extremely successful and the service was particularly fast. Future plans is to connect more information to Google maps such as restaurants and interesting places as well as setting up the website in more languages.
Successful launch
The launch of www.vitaferdir.is was extremely successful as over 8,000 visitors visited the website the first day alone and half of them signed up for the VITA internet club.
